The Story

The Arclight Holo BIO is a pioneering binocular indirect ophthalmoscope (BIO) designed for precision, portability, and affordability. Ideal for eye care professionals, medical students, and healthcare workers, it delivers high-quality retinal and anterior segment examinations in a compact, light design.

Key Features:

  • Light & Portable – Weighs just 97g and fits in a pocket or around the neck for hands-free convenience
  • Five-Level LED Illumination  Warm white LED light with five brightness settings for accurate colour rendering and patient comfort
  • Solar & USB Charging – Built-in solar panel and USB-C charging provide reliable, sustainable power. A 20-minute USB charge offers hours of use
  • Enhanced Magnification with Maglens – The +3.00D Maglens provides detailed views of the optic disc, macula, and anterior segment
  • Teaching Mirror for Training – Allows educators and students to share a live, monocular view for hands-on learning
  • Versatile Clinical Applications – Enables widefield retinal examination, zoomed-in disc and macula assessment, anterior segment evaluation, and fundal red reflex testing
  • No Adjustments Required – Fixed interpupillary distance (IPD) of 55–68mm ensures a clear stereo view for most users
  • Easy to Clean – Smooth, flat surfaces allow quick disinfection with alcohol wipes or a 70% alcohol solution

Condensing Lenses

  • A hand-held condensing lens is required to examine the retina using the Holo BIO. We offer a package with +20D and +28D condensing lenses, the most commonly used lens powers:
  • +20D lens – A versatile, general-purpose lens offering 3.00x magnification with a 46° field of view, ideal for adult examinations and diabetic retinopathy screening
  • +28D lens – Provides a wider 56° field of view with 2.27x magnification, making it particularly useful for paediatric assessments and retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) screening
